Catca Woods Miniatures

The farm name Catca Woods is derived from the Choctaw designation given to the
nearby creek. Legend states that the word "catca" translates to "black cats." The
Choctaw Indians have long since gone but in their place lies a thriving horse, cattle,
and farming community.

Catca Woods Miniatures is located on the rolling countryside of Washington parish,
fifty-five miles north of New Orleans, Louisiana. Owned by Grace and Wilson
LaGraize, for the past 12 years horses and cattle are raised here. The first miniature
horse, purchased in 2003 as a pet to entertain the grandchildren, has evolved into
an obsession to acquire and produce better miniature horses. Miniature breeding
comes naturally to Grace and Wilson with experience in horses and cattle. The little
equines have become a natural complement to the raising of Braford Cattle and
Tennessee Walkers.

On the first buying trip, Grace fell in love with a beautiful Leopard Appaloosa
Falabella stallion. Later, chestnut Lucky Four Rangers Imperial and perlino
Cascades Top Cat Creme de la Creme stallions are added. At this point the search
for suitable mares to complement the well-bred stallions begins.

Most recently, we have acquired a three-year-old stallion, WF Zeus White Lightning/
aka "Popsicle", from Ray Zoercher of Wind Flight. Popsicle's famed Buckaroo and
Patton breeding crosses well with our select mares.

No other endeavor shows the willingness of so many fellow breeders to share
knowledge and experience as does breeding these wonderful little equines.
Specializing in breeding AMHA, AMHR, and show-quality miniatures, Grace and
Wilson hope to achieve the highest level of miniature horse standards, perfection in
meeting the goals of miniature registries servicing the American and International
markets.
